Odoo alternative: Swiss business management, with no integration project

By Michael Dusong · Updated 06.11.2026

This comparison is written by the maker of BeMyTalent. We obviously have an interest, and a rule to offset it: every fact about Odoo comes from its official pages, accessed on 06.11.2026, and we also write what Odoo does better. Odoo's prices are those of its page in euros; BeMyTalent's are in francs, excl. VAT.

The essentials

  • Odoo is a global, open-source suite published in Belgium: around fifty main applications, from accounting to production, and 28 million users claimed. It is paid per user, and implementing it is often a project.
  • BeMyTalent does less, for Switzerland: accounting, QR invoicing, payroll, supplier payments, CRM, quotes and mandates. It is paid per company, with unlimited users, and it is ready to use.
  • Switching takes a few clicks: two exports from Odoo are enough, BeMyTalent checks them, imports them, then compares each account with Odoo, to the cent.

The differences in one table

Six differences that change the day-to-day

1. A price that doesn't penalise the team

At Odoo, every user counts: on Standard, 124.50 €/month for 5 people and 249 € for 10, after the first year; on Custom, 224.50 € and 449 €. The light user at 7.90 € can lower the bill. At BeMyTalent, a company of up to 10 employees pays CHF 69/month, whatever the number of people logged in. See pricing.

2. No integration project

A suite this broad has to be configured. Odoo publishes Success Packs, from 4 to 200 hours of consulting, and itself states an implementation success rate of 98% with a pack, against 65% without. BeMyTalent is narrower, and so more direct: you create your account, you drop in your first invoices, and you see the result the same day.

3. Hosting in Switzerland

Odoo's official list places its European servers in France and Belgium, with no Swiss region; the customer chooses neither the location of the backups nor the sub-processors. BeMyTalent is hosted in Switzerland and compliant with the Swiss Data Protection Act (nFADP). If your clients or your fiduciary (Swiss accounting firm) ask you the question, the answer is simple.

4. The Swiss rules are already there

Odoo covers Switzerland among many countries: its documentation explains, for instance, how to add the Swiss ISO 20022 format to the bank journal, and a localisation module has to be installed for payroll. BeMyTalent is designed for Switzerland from the start: QR-bill, pain.001 validated by SIX, VAT return (2026 rates: 8.1%, 2.6%, 3.8%), and payroll from AHV/AVS to the salary certificate.

5. A tool to use, not an ERP to assemble

Odoo lets you build everything, and that is its strength. The flip side: each bespoke module has a maintenance cost, billed on top. At BeMyTalent, everything is in the subscription, with no choice of modules: you go from quote to invoice to payment without assembling anything.

6. You steer, and AI never approves

Planned vs Actual compares your figures with your forecast, continuously, in the same tool. And AI stays in its place: the assistant suggests an account, Agent Access prepares the work, and nothing is posted without you.

What Odoo does better

In fairness, and because it may be your case:

  • Breadth: production (MRP, quality, maintenance), website, e-commerce, point of sale, HR, marketing.
  • Openness: an open-source Community edition, hosting on your own servers possible.
  • Bespoke work: Studio, external API and specific developments.
  • Multi-country: several companies and localisations in a single database.
  • Ecosystem: more than 21,000 partners and 28 million users claimed.

If you manufacture, if your website runs on Odoo or if you have subsidiaries abroad, stay with Odoo — sincerely.

Leaving Odoo: the migration in a few clicks

In your BeMyTalent accounting, open Import an existing set of accounts, then Import from Odoo. Two doors, a single migration engine:

  • By files, for all plans, Standard included: two exports are enough, the chart of accounts and the entries. No technical access is needed, allow about ten minutes. An export of contacts and products completes the migration.
  • With an API key, for Odoo.sh, self-hosted Odoo or Odoo Online on the Custom plan: BeMyTalent reads everything for you, attachments included, then the key is deleted from our servers.

Then five steps: Prepare, Upload, Check, Import, Report.

What is brought over:

  • the entries, fiscal year by fiscal year, non-calendar fiscal years included;
  • the chart of accounts;
  • open invoices to collect and suppliers to pay;
  • contacts, with their IBAN;
  • the product catalogue.

The proof: the report compares the balance of each account with Odoo, at every closing, and the VAT box by box. Either every account matches to the cent, or the accounts that differ are listed. You can save it as a PDF for your fiduciary. And the migration can be reversed as long as no later fiscal year is kept in BeMyTalent.

What is not brought over: the website, production, email history and bespoke modules. Imported invoices are neither re-issued nor followed up with reminders from BeMyTalent. BeMyTalent keeps the books in francs: an Odoo company kept in another currency goes through the assisted migration, and a foreign-currency entry is imported in CHF, with its original amount noted on the line.

The price: doing it yourself, it is free and included in the trial. If you'd rather have someone do it with you, the assisted migration is paid once, by size: it covers the current and the previous fiscal year, and beyond that, it is on quote. The details are on the Pricing page.

Let's be honest: BeMyTalent's limits

BeMyTalent is a young product, published by Ekylibr SA in Switzerland, and it does fewer things than Odoo. In exchange: a free trial, no card, everything included, and your data exportable at any time if you leave.

Your fiduciary keeps their place. BeMyTalent doesn't replace your fiduciary: it takes the data entry off their plate.

FAQ

Can you migrate from Odoo to BeMyTalent in a few clicks?

Yes: two exports from Odoo, or an API key, then five guided steps. The final report compares each account with Odoo, to the cent. The migration works with Odoo 17, 18 and 19.

Do you need Odoo's Custom plan to migrate?

No. The Standard plan has no access to the external API, but the file exports are enough to bring over the accounting. Only the attachments need the API key.

How much does the migration from Odoo cost?

Doing it yourself, it is free and included in the trial. Assisted, it costs CHF 200, CHF 400 or CHF 600 depending on the size of the company, paid once, for the current and the previous fiscal year.

What happens to my Odoo website?

It is not brought over. BeMyTalent replaces neither the website, nor production, nor bespoke modules. If you depend on them, Odoo remains the right choice.

Is Odoo hosted in Switzerland?

Its official list names no Swiss region for Odoo Online: the European servers are in France and Belgium (privacy policy of 24.09.2026). BeMyTalent is hosted in Switzerland.

How much does Odoo cost in 2026?

On its page in euros: Standard at 19.90 € per user per month on annual billing for 12 months, then 24.90 €; Custom at 35.90 €, then 44.90 €. One application stays free, and implementation is not included (official website, accessed 06.11.2026).

Your accounting almost runs itself.
